It was the winter of 2018 and a friend and I were flirting with the idea of starting our own agency. I was working full time at a shop in Chicago. Steady gig. I worked with one of my friends, but I couldn't share the entrepreneurial itch.
My soon to be business partner already had Bruno Mars' rum brand as a client, so I needed to find enough client work to cover me financially. And after a lot of hustling, I was able to reconnect with an ex-client (and friend) who was fractional CMO of a couple brands. And Troup was officially born in February of 2019.
We've had a great run working on small brands to national brands like Peet's Coffee, TurboTax, The North Face, SimpleMills, The NoMad Hotel and My Protein.
We turned the lights off in 2024 to pursue other interests.
