Creative leadership rooted in taste, trust, and getting the work done.
I’ve been driven by creativity for as long as I can remember. It started early, when I penned and designed my middle school presidential campaign slogan: “For a Brighter Future, Vote for Dimmer.” That instinct to shape ideas, give them voice, and bring people along has never really left.
I grew up in a very liberal household where curiosity and self-expression were encouraged, and that foundation pushed me to follow my creative instincts wherever they led. That path took me to Kendall College of Art & Design, and then into a career spanning design, advertising, and creative leadership.
Over the past two decades, I’ve worked across agencies ranging from five people to 1,500+, partnering with brands of nearly every size and category. I’ve art-directed pro-bono local campaigns, shot content for social and live activations, and led multi-million-dollar productions around the world. I bring a classically trained design eye to everything I touch, paired with hands-on creative direction and a deep respect for craft.
Entrepreneurship has always been a throughline. I founded The Extra Mile in 2011, and later founded Troup, where I served as Chief Creative Officer for eight years while also acting as the point person for new business and growth. Following Troup, I moved on to build Bag of Tricks, expanding my focus on senior-led creative partnerships and hands-on execution. Most recently, I founded Backyard Tea in 2023. Each chapter has been different, but all have reinforced the same belief: great work happens when strategy, taste, and trust are aligned.
I genuinely love getting my hands dirty. But the thing I’m most proud of isn’t a campaign or a logo. It’s the relationships. The trust built over time is what allowed the best ideas to surface and the biggest risks to pay off. That trust made the work better.
Outside of work, I’m a proud dad, most often found on soccer sidelines, but also rotating through basketball, track and field, and cross country, cheering on two incredible little guys who are my world.
Current focus: building and advising brands at pivotal moments where clarity, craft, and momentum matter most, while continuing to explore founder-led ventures and creative partnerships. I also work with agencies on a fractional basis, stepping in as senior creative leadership to support growth, new business, and moments that demand experienced hands.
